Press Event : OGX Beauty Bar x Evolution Food Co.

To discover the latest in hair care innovation by OGX, a number of Toronto beauty bloggers, magazine editors and media were invited to Evolution Food Co. to preview the newest OGX collections. We were welcomed by cold-pressed juices [I got the Heavenly Glow – apple, cucumber, celery, kale, romaine, lemon, ginger] and breakfast bites [I ordered the Sunshine Bowl – quinoa, kale, shallot, mushroom, egg, lemon, dijon] infused with the same nourishing vitamins that power the three exciting new ranges set to be in stores early 2015!

* Miracle In-Shower Oil

Collection 2 : OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5
Nutrient-rich, Vitamin B5 corrects and protects hair, delivering a surge of moisture to stressed strands, while providing defense against daily environmental aggressors and future damage.

* Weightless Oil Mist

Collection 3 : OGX Healing + Vitamin E
Developed to repair damaged hair and restore vitality. Known for its healing and reparative properties, Vitamin E smoothes the surface of the hair, combating frizz and mending split-ends, while reducing the risk of future breakage.

* Shampoo & Conditioner
* Penetrating Oil

NOTES :

After talking to the OGX rep that flew in from Florida, here were a few key points :

* The collections and products are not exclusive to any hair type. Customers are encouraged to mix and match products from different collections to suit their needs.

* “Moisture + Vitamin B5” & “Healing + Vitamin E” shampoos are gentle and lightweight enough that you should be able to use everyday.

* Some of the hair oil sprays can double as heat protectants before styling hair.

* OGX was started by a hairstylist.

* OGX is short for Organix, however it is not labelled as an “organic” hair line. To be labelled as such, 70% of the ingredients have to be organic. OGX decided not to go that route, but they do try to use as many natural ingredients as they can without sacrificing integrity and performance.

* Lo Bosworth [TV Personality] has been using OGX products! She has a few Youtube videos where she talks about OGX!

We did receive a huge OGX goody bag to take home and try out products from each of the 3 collections! [Thank you OGX!]

Also, wanted to quickly mention we got to take home a super healthy lunchbox by Evolution Food Co. I ordered the Moroc Lunch [cherry tomato, cucumber, spiced chickpea, feta, sunflower seed, parsley, lemon & honey vinaigrette, tahini & harissa-spiced hummus] + Quinoa + Baby Greens + Atlantic Salmon. The food was amazing, fresh and probably the most healthiest meal I’ve ever had! And surprisingly filling as well!

The food had a lot of the same vitamins that were also in the new OGX products – such as the Vitamin E and B5. Definitely smart to eat healthy and use those same nutrients and vitamins within our beauty routine. This event has inspired me to try and eat more greens and also incorporate more quinoa into my diet! And I’m sure I’ll enjoy testing out the OGX products at the same time!

  • Just wanted to make a quick note that so far my favourite collection is the OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5. I’ve used the oil mist to get rid of frizz on the ends of hair as well, which is super nice and smells amazing!
