Food Review : Azarias Restaurant

Azarias Restaurant boasts an incredible diverse menu of tapas-styled dishes. We’ve dined here twice and they’ve never disappointed. The decor is modern but with old family photos of the owner. Portions are small but well worth the price.

Each table has a pot of fresh growing basil leaves or rosemary that you are able to cut and put into your food for taste. Such a nice and thoughtful touch.

Yummy fresh bread to start.

Executive Chef, George Tyminski changes up the menu often, but this is what we ordered :

1) Rainbow Trout w/ Tapenade and Lemon Aioli Sauce $16 CAD

2) Seared Ahi Tuna w/ Apple Slaw & Wasabi Cream $15 CAD

3) Mussels w/ Thai Lemongrass and Coconut Broth $10 CAD

4) Beef Tenderloin w/ Peppercorn Sauce $18 CAD

Awesome food, great service. We pretty much enjoyed every dish we’ve tried so far. All the dishes are very thoughtful, full of delicious flavours and cooked perfectly. The quality of the food is amazing and so is the presentation. The small dishes are easy to share.

The hardest part? Deciding what to order! Our favourite, if we had to choose one, would have to be the “Seared Ahi Tuna”. I don’t think we’ll ever get tired of it! Even the lady sitting next to our table came just to order that dish, plus a glass of wine and then shortly headed out.

The only downside of this restaurant is the seating/tables are quite close to each other, so you don’t feel as though you have much privacy and they are only open for Dinner Service. (Monday to Saturday from 4pm to 11pm. Closed on Sundays!) Either way, we would still highly recommend this place for a nice night out, but be sure to make reservations, as it gets very busy on the weekends.

Have you eaten here before? If so, what did you think of Azarias?
